247locksmiths.co.uk is an independent UK website that publishes consumer information and advice about locks, being locked out, home security and the locksmith trade. We write for householders and renters who want to understand a problem before they spend money on it.
What this site is not
We are not a locksmith. We do not fit, repair or change locks, we do not sell locks, we do not dispatch anyone, and we cannot attend an emergency. We are a publisher. Everything here is information to help you make your own decisions.
How we write
Our aim is plain English. Where a job or a price is described, we explain what drives it rather than pretending there is one correct answer. Where we do not yet have a figure we can stand behind, we say so and mark it for checking, rather than inventing one. You can read exactly how we work in our editorial policy.
How the site is funded
The site is funded by advertising and, where clearly labelled, affiliate links. That pays for the writing and hosting. It does not buy a recommendation: if we are ever paid for a link, it is labelled, and the affiliate disclosure explains what that means.
Who writes it
Guides are published under the site name. We do not publish invented author biographies or false credentials: if a named editor is added here later, their real experience will be stated plainly.
